Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Assisting in the review of construction plans and specifications to ensure they are constructible and meet quality standards; 2) Aiding in the coordination of contractor work with building occupants and other agencies to ensure minimal disruption; and 3) Supporting the review of contractor submittals, such as work schedules and payment requests, for accuracy and completeness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Review plans prior to design completion to ensure constructibility in the field.
Conduct project site inspections for prospective bidders to provide information on technical requirements.
Coordinate the contractor's work with building occupants and other affected government agencies.
Review approval or disapproval of the contractor's submittals, including work schedules and progress payments.
