This vacancy is for a Program Analyst position in the Associate Director for Field Operations located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station. This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Program Analyst, GS-0343-15 positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
Specialized experience: For the GS-15 you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes supervising staff, overseeing work on data collection-related operations or programs, working on and resolving issues across organizations and geographic areas, and analyzing and evaluating programs. Education: Education cannot be substituted for specialized experience at this grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Supervising staff, overseeing and providing guidance and technical direction to staff who work on various data collection support programs.
Working on issues across organizational lines and/or geographic areas requiring close coordination and interdependence with other administrative, technical, and program management staff.
Analyzing and evaluating program data, survey materials, creating reports and recommending a course of action to executive leadership to keep the operations on schedule and within budget.
