Job Description:

You will serve as an ENGINEER/SCIENTIST (Deputy Division Manager) in the Global Deterrence and Defense Department (GX), Fleet Sustainment and Advanced Manufacturing (GXN), Quality and Fleet Assessment Branch (GXNT) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-14 Step 10 (currently $163,514).
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional Engineer or Scientist, providing technical oversight and guidance on the implementation of engineering or scientific underwater acoustic sonar systems ensuring adherence to resource requirements (e.g., schedule, milestones, and deliverables) for improved efficiency and effectiveness of acoustic sensor manufacturing processes. You will manage Chief Engineers and other key personnel in the division while supporting the Division Manager in the administration of the Division.
You will ensure alignment of Division/Department priorities and strategy throughout the organization, while overseeing day-to-day operations within the Division.
You will provide oversight in areas of training, quality and safety compliance, security rigor and compliance, personnel actions, and human capital planning.
You will provide oversight of corporate data calls and metrics, administrative approvals and execution of task requirements.
You will provide leadership on the implementation, and sustainment of the Division’s strategies.
You will assist with policy making and procedural standardization that is required to enhance overall division health of process, technical capabilities and standard work.
You will provide oversight and guidance on the approach for reviewing the Division’s key functions via execution reviews and metrics for cost, quality and schedule monitoring and ensuring resource planning.
You will work with branch managers and key staff to address operational issues within the division and champion resolution.
