One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-09) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. GS-11 Specialized experience is defined as: Experience independently managing daily information security operations by interpreting security policies to protect sensitive data; conducting detailed reviews to find and fix security weaknesses; and investigating security incidents while providing guidance to others regarding proper protocols. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-09 or higher grade in Federal Service. ** To verify you meet the time-in-grade requirement, please provide a copy of a recent SF-50 that shows you have completed at least 52 weeks at the next lower grade level. Examples of qualifying SF-50s include: Within-Grade Increase (WGI) Promotion Any SF-50, if its effective date allows a specialist to calculate 52 weeks of service. Act as the Information Security Specialist, responsible for managing the day to-day operations requirements at the Indianapolis Site.
Responsible for development, publication, executing/enforcing and implementation of policies related to Information Security (INFOSEC).
Develops and implements an effective security education program throughout the site and provides initial, continuing, and refresher security education training to all site military and civilian employees, and on-site contractor personnel.
Develops processes, methods and recommendations to defeat intelligence gathering or risk exposure of information and prevent the compromise, loss, unauthorized access/disclosure, destruction, distortion or non-accessibility of information.
Provide security programs guidance and support to all levels of management.
