This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Providing guidance to management on recruitment, placement, classification or compensation actions; Processing employee relations cases, including grievances, appeals, or disciplinary actions; Interpreting legislative, regulatory, and policy guidance; Leading or mentoring others by assigning work, providing training, or reviewing work products. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
As a SUPERVISORY HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST at the GS-0201-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Senior HR advisor and strategic partner to the Directorates, managers, and senior staff; provides guidance and assistance to supervisors and employees concerning all areas under the purview of the Staffing and Management/Employee Relations Division. Keeps abreast of HR regulations, policies, laws, and operating program developments to effectively assist management in discharging their leadership responsibilities. Provides guidance in other areas of the labor employee relations program, where appropriate, and conducts training courses. Coordinates with field offices to provide direct assistance and counsel in the development and conduct of management-employee relations functions. Provides oversight of the advisory services and employee relations assistance provided to managers and employees.
