No assumptions will be made about your experience. Specialized Experience For GS-5: You must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level. Examples of specialized experience may include: Experience performing clerical administrative duties such as processing mail, drafting correspondence, performing records management; computer software knowledge or experience in data entry, and customer service. OR 4 years of education above high school. OR Have a combination of education and specialized experience. For GS-6: You must possess one (1) year of specialized work experience equivalent to GS-5 level. Examples of specialized experience may include: Utilize an automated time and attendance system for reporting. Communicate with customers to answer questions and disseminate and explain information. Coordinate procurement of materials, supplies and services for a department. Research, collect, compile data and statistical information for reports and presentations in support of staff members. For GS-7: You must possess one (1) year of specialized work experience equivalent to GS-6 level. Examples of specialized experience may include: Provide administrative and office support services, to include budgeting, purchasing, data processing and file management. Prepare travel arrangements for staff. Establish and maintain files in accordance with regulations. Prepare and review correspondence using software applications as electronic mail, desktop publishing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations. Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate undergraduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Physical Demands: The work is typically sedentary. Some work may require periods of walking, standing, bending, or driving a motor vehicle. May frequently lift relatively light boxes, materials and supplies and/or carry file folders, copied materials, books, and other similar materials. Work Environment: Work is typically located in an adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated office environment. Work environment may involve everyday risk or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, mail distribution centers, meeting and training rooms, libraries, or motor vehicles.
Prepare, edit, and finalize correspondence for office supervisors and managers. Disseminate correspondence to appropriate personnel and track and maintain records of it.
Assist property management officials and/or property specialists to ensure accuracy of ownership and custody of all personal property. Assist with maintenance of office equipment.
Serve as collections officer. Prepare appropriate receipts, records and tracking forms. Deposit monies in strict accordance with department of Treasury instructions.
Assist local application/database administrator in performing tasks such as resetting passwords and providing training and assistance to users.
Provide assistance in the completion of records reviews, inventories, and dispositions in accordance with records schedule.
Process daily incoming and out-going mail, including material transmitted electronically. Date, route stamp and deliver incoming mail; assemble and mail out-going material.
Provide general information concerning office(s) operations to the public both orally and in writing. Contact may occur though telephone, email, and in person. Respond to inquiries directly or refer individual to the appropriate staff member.
