This position is at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) in the Office of Credit Union Resources and Expansion. This position serves as a Consumer Access Specialist.
To meet the minimum qualification requirements for the grade CU-11, you must have one of the following (A, B, or C): A. EXPERIENCE: One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-09 level (obtained in the public or private sector) that has equipped the applicant with the competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities) to successfully perform the duties of this position. This experience must have included all of the following: 1) responding to correspondence and inquiries; 2) analyzing field of membership amendment requests; and 3) interpreting financial rules, regulations and statutes. OR B. EDUCATION: Completion of three (3) full academic years of progressively higher graduate-level education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for successful job performance in the position to be filled; and included at least six (6) semester hours of course work in accounting or equivalent courses and three (3) semester hours in introductory auditing* (or an equivalent course) for a total of nine (9) semester hours. These courses must have been at the graduate or undergraduate level and a description of qualifying accounting coursework can be found in the education section of this vacancy announcement. OR C. COMBINATION: Completion of an equivalent combination of acceptable graduate level education and experience as described above sufficient to equal 100% of the job requirements. As a Consumer Access Specialist, you will: Analyze field of membership amendment requests with emphasis on the complex requests. Review and analyze the field of membership of credit unions involved in potential consolidations to determine compatibility for the purposes of NCUA's chartering policies. Respond to inquiries from groups interested in pursuing a federal charter. Review and analyze routine requests for federal credit union bylaw amendments. Respond orally and in writing to routine and complex share insurance inquiries from federally insured credit unions, the public, and referred by NCUA Consumer Assistance Center.
