Job Description:

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The incumbent operates under the administrative direction of the Commander (Brigadier General or above).This position is with, the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, CA.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized experience: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Managing safety program and advise personal at organization about a variety of safety and occupational health subjects, issues, policies or procedures; developing safety regulations and operating procedures to meet laws, requirements, and policies; AND planning the work to be accomplished by subordinate personnel, set, and adjust short-term priorities, also prepare schedules for completion of work. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13)
Assist the Commander in developing an aggressive and comprehensive safety and occupational health management program, compatible with HQDA and Forces Command (FORSCOM) missions.
Formulate and prepare command safety policy and initiates the development of command supplements and regulations on safety and occupational health.
Serve as technical advisor and trusted member of the Commander's personal staff and conduct in-depth analysis of trends and other statistical data to identify specific safety problems.
Perform a full range of supervisory functions providing guidance, direction, supervision and program oversight.
