Job Description:

This position is in the Department of Justice, Justice Management Division, Office of the Executive Secretariat (OES). OES oversees the review and approval of official documents and coordinating the flow of information critical to rigorous decision making. OES is also responsible for the coordination of all policy related decision material submitted to the Department for clearance. OES provides records management services, including storage of classified material and document searches.
To qualify for the position of IT Specialist, at GS-2210-12/13, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below. Basic Qualification for 2210 series: Please refer to the OPM IT Management Series 2210 Qualification Standard for the specific experience requirements for the GS-12 and above positions. AND Specialize Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service, which includes: Developing and/or testing system software and/or make modification; Providing Tier 2 support to diagnose and/or resolve IT problems. Specialize Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service, which includes: Providing the highest level of technical support for products and/or services; Handling full desktop support, performs diagnostic testing, and addresses issues related to operating systems, software applications, and/or network connectivity. The duties and responsibilities for a IT Specialist (CUSTSPT), GS-2210-12/13 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Manage assigned IT/communications environment with privileged access. Plan, coordinate, install, and analyze system design, hardware and software. Develop, recommend, and install solutions and upgrades to ensure availability of all components of the assigned system. Resolve IT and functional problems in response to customer reported incidents. Provide technical support to customers. Troubleshoot and diagnose system failures to isolate sources of problems. Identify and document system requirements for specific needs of customers. Ensure upgrades to the base IT and communications infrastructure are identified. Assists customers in developing and submitting recommendations for additional equipment and funds.
